A career in beauty therapy is one, which I have found to be wonderfully rewarding and fulfilling. The opportunities are vast, from working in a salon or clinic close to home, to travelling the world on a cruise ship.
College courses vary in this field but most do offer international qualifications, recognised bodies are International health and beauty council, Cidesco, Babtac and International Federation of Beauty therapy to mention a few. These qualifications can turn the world into your oyster.
If you enjoy people, have the ability to communicate and a capacity to care with the well-being and best interests of your client at heart this could well be the career for you.
If however your interest lies in cosmetics why not try a make-up house for in store make-up consultations advice. Or make-up artist for a media company or theatre company. For the latter a college training in stage and screen make up is very often required with knowledge of hairdressing and wig making.
